Great Pyramid of Giza can focus pockets of energy in its chamber, scientists say

This mysterious structure was built thousands of years ago and experts are only just learning about its hidden powers.

The Great Pyramid of Giza can collect and concentrate electromagnetic energy in its chambers and at its base, scientists have discovered.

The 139m (456ft) construction was built by the ancient Egyptians more than 4,500 years ago and is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Experts are still working to solve the mysteries of the pyramid, which is believed to have been built as a tomb for the pharaoh Khufu, also known as Cheops. Its ability to concentrate electric and magnetic energy was discovered by a team of researchers led by scientists from ITMO University in the Russian city of St Petersburg.

They created a model of the pyramid to measure its electromagnetic response.
The model was used to see how wave energy is scattered or absorbed by the pyramid and the group tested the interactions with waves of resonant length - ranging from 200m to 600m.
If the pyramid's ability to concentrate energy can be recreated on a nanoscale size, researchers say the same science could be used to create more efficient sensors and solar cells.
The study, published in the Journal of Applied Physics, says: "In general, one may conclude that pyramidal objects located on a substrate and supporting multipole resonances can significantly suppress the reflection of incident electromagnetic waves.
"In the earth conditions, this could be used for controlling the radio-wave propagation and reflection.
The Great Pyramid is only 0.067 degrees counter-clockwise from perfect cardinal alignment
"Due to the scaling properties, such a behaviour can be realised in different spectral ranges for suitable material and geometrical parameters."
Dr Andrey Evlyukhin, scientific supervisor and coordinator of the research, said: "Egyptian pyramids have always attracted great attention.
"We as scientists were interested in them as well, so we decided to look at the Great Pyramid as a particle dissipating radio waves resonantly.
"Due to the lack of information about the physical properties of the pyramid, we had to use some assumptions.

History of Fela Kuti's Death

History of Fela Kuti death

Fela Kuti is known far and wide in Nigeria and outside it as the pioneer of Afrobeat, an unusual and totally unique blend of many styles of music: jazz, fuji, high-life and more. Due to this invention and his activism, he became insanely popular during the prime of his musical career and, again, due to it, he’s still a star of African music and the king of many musical styles, as well. This popularity has caused the never-ceasing interest towards everything in his life, beginning with his early childhood and ending with his death and its cause. Eventually, there several versions of the cause of his, which has only warmed up the interest of fans.

What are the main versions of Fela Kuti's death cause?

History of Fela Kuti death

The official version says that the king of Afrobeat had HIV/AIDS. However, nobody knows for sure because while alive, Fela never trusted medicine from the Western world. When he happened to fall ill with something, he was more likely to turn to native African methods of treatment and medications rather than Western examinations and medications. Closer to the end of his life, Fela had intimate intercourse with an incredible number of women, including the 27 women he had as his wives. He was reported to have denied the existence of HIV and said that it was a “disease of white men.” Also, he treated condoms extremely negatively, claiming that they were totally non-African.

History of Fela Kuti death

Closer to his death, Fela Kuti had characteristic skin lesions, which are found on the skin of AIDS sufferers. These wounds develop out of the smallest skin injury because the immune system cannot fight infections and the body is no longer able to regenerate tissues. However, Fela Kuti convinced everybody that the lesions appeared because of the process of “new skin growth” associated with spiritual renewal. In fact, the dramatic weight loss everybody noticed right before Fela Kuti death, the skin disorders, and many other signs showed all too clearly that he was suffering from Kaposi’s sarcoma, a type of slow skin cancer associated with HIV/AIDS.

Still, some of the former Fela Kuti’s wives denied Fela Kuti HIV diagnose. They claim the cause of his death was the severe beating he received when his house was attacked. He was beaten almost to death and his old mother was thrown out of the window, which caused her death too. Fela Kuti death date is August 2, 1997. This was the date the world lost one of its greatest talents, an outstanding musician and a fearless man.

Court orders arrest of INEC chairman, asks IGP to produce him on August 14

Image result for Pictures of arrest

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Wednesday, August 8, has ordered Nigeria's inspector general of police to arrest and bring the chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, Mahmood Yakubu, to court for refusing to obey a valid order court, Independent Newspaper reports.
Justice Stephen Pam had on July 5 ordered Yakubu to appear before him to prove why he should not be sent to prison for contempt of court but five days later, on July 10 when the court sat again, Mahmood did not show up with his counsel, Mr Adeboyega Awomolo.
Consequently, on August 1, he ordered the arrest of the INEC boss for failing to appear in court for the third time and asked the police to effect the arrest immediately. The news outlet reports further that Goddy Uche, counsel to the plaintiff, had earlier told the court that the INEC chairman had blatantly refused to obey an order of court summoning him to appear in court. As a result of this, Justice Pam was said to have demanded to know from counsel to the INEC chairman, Adegboyega Awomolo, why Prof Mahmood was not in court. In his reply, Awomolo was quoted to have said: “My lord, I don’t know where he is; if Goddy knows, he should go and bring him.” The judge repeated his question: “Chief, where is Prof Mahmood?”
Responding, Awomolo said: “My lord, it is beyond my brief to produce the INEC Chairman in court. The court has issued a bench warrant against Prof Mahmood, so, let the IGP produce him in court.”

Snake eats pigeon on east London street

Pigeon and snake

A boa constrictor has been pictured apparently eating a pigeon on an east London street.

Photos and video on social media showed the snake wrapped around the bird in the middle of a pathway outside a shop in Leytonstone. Dave Fawbert, the editor of Shortlist magazine, shared an image on Twitter with the caption: "Just a python eating a pigeon on Leytonstone High Road #LondonLife". The RSPCA said an inspector had gone to the scene, but could not give details on what had happened to the pigeon. The snake was taken to a nearby wildlife centre, where it was being assessed.

RSPCA inspector Rebecca Bedson said: "I'm very keen to find out how he came to be in such a dangerous situation.
"Exposed like that on a street could have meant anything might have happened to him- he could have been run over by a car or attacked by another animal. It might be that he is an escaped pet, or more worryingly, someone may have deliberately dumped him and left him to fend for himself."
She went on: "Either way, anybody with any information can give me a call in complete confidence on our inspector's appeal line by phoning 0300 123 8018." The RSPCA has urged potential reptile owners to do their research about what care is needed before taking on the responsibility of an exotic pet.
